Lynsted Community Kitchen Garden
Lynsted, Sittingbourne
Lynsted Community Kitchen Garden is a group of local people, all volunteers, who grow seasonal veg, fruit, and herbs together in Kent. Anyone living within a 6 mile radius can join the garden and share the free produce; picking what you want, when you want. In exchange we ask for a little help in the garden (no skills required, plus it's great for getting outside, taking a bit of exercise and meeting a few people). The garden functions to inspire and engage everyone with fresh, local produce. ‘No Dig’ is used to support soil health and the garden works hard to monitor and increase biodiversity using sustainable practices like: rainwater capture and composting. The garden keeps bees too. There are seasonal events, see website for details, where you can come and buy seedlings, learn more about joining the garden as well as about food-growing, healthy eating and how amazing nature is for well-being. Visits are by arrangement only - see website for email contact details.
