We are a fourth generation, organic egg farming family in the beautiful village of Ditchling in East Sussex. Our farm was bought by Grandma and Grandpa back in 1994, when they became one of the first ever suppliers of free range eggs to the major supermarkets. Back then, the farm was one old shed that had been used for pig farming. Today we have two state of the art chicken sheds housing 12,000 organic free range birds - or "our girls" as we like to call them. Every single day, our girls work hard to produce around 12,000 delicious eggs. No days off. Same as us. We are passionate about open, honest farming and about making sure the people who eat our eggs really understand how they are produced. That is why we open the farm up Monday to Saturday for egg sales, so our customers can wander down our bumpy farm track and buy freshly laid organic free range eggs directly from our stable block. There is something really special about knowing exactly where your food comes from. We never get tired of that. We also celebrate the parts of egg farming that the industry tends to overlook: Pullet eggs (the smaller eggs laid by young hens) - are usually sent for processing because they are noticeably smaller than the eggs you find in supermarkets. We think that is a crying shame. Pullet eggs are just as delicious and we sell them here on the farm. Over the past ten years we have also rehomed over 100,000 of our girls at the end of their laying life, working with some amazing organisations to find them happy forever homes.

Can people visit or buy direct?

Yes, please do visit us. We open the farm Monday to Saturday, 9am–12noon, for freshly laid organic free range eggs direct from our stable block. Just follow the bumpy farm track. Wholesale egg enquiries are also welcome via the website.
