Alpino Garden Farm, Catworth, Cambridgeshire
67 Station Road, Catworth, Huntingdon, PE28 0PE
At Alpino Garden Farm, the beds aren't dug. The fruit, vegetables and salads that are grown here in Catworth, west Cambridgeshire are grown with no chemicals and no fertilisers. Glasshouses are used to push the seasons either side. The microbakery sits a few yards from the growing beds. Sourdough goes in on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday: organic stoneground flours, a long ferment, nothing else added. Our shop alongside takes the same approach. Refillable dry wholefoods and household liquids you decant into your own containers. British cheeses, ferments, preserves, olive oil. Eggs from Manor Farm, venison from Norfolk Wild Venison, organic veg from Cambridge Organic to fill the gaps in what is growing on site that week. The food is good because how we produce it is consistent with no fuss. Bring your own jar.
