Private, secluded campsite in ancient woodland for groups up to 25 people, close to the shores of Coniston Water. The campsite is in a natural clearing on the fringe of the nationally important Dodgson Wood SSSI, therefore it is being managed with conservation and minimal impact in mind.

What do you produce?

We are a Lake District farming and farm diversification business. Alongside farming rare and native British sheep and cattle, we also make soap from our Jersey cow’s milk and sell raw fleece, knitting wool, tweed and wool products from our flock of sheep.

Campsite in the Clearing is set within secluded ancient woodland, close to the shores of Coniston Water in the Lake District. Available to rent exclusively, you can enjoy the space with just your group of friends or family. The site is let as a whole, for to twenty five people - ideal for large families and outdoor education groups. To minimise erosion and wildlife disruption only six vehicles can have access to the site. The campsite has been formed in a natural clearing on the fringe of the nationally important Dodgson Wood SSSI, therefore it is being managed with conservation and minimal impact in mind. Therefore no wood can be collected from the site, but if you want a campfire, wood is supplied by us and included in the price. Composting toilets are on site and there is also a cold water tap.
