Jersey Farmers Market
Le Tacheron Farm, Rue de Dielament, Jersey, JE3 5HX
Jersey Farmers Markets happen in a working farmyard every other Saturday from late June to the middle of September. Le Tacheron Farm opens its gates from 10-2 and around nineteen island producers set up among the sheds. Entry is free, there is parking and the number 21 bus stops nearby. The line-up moves week to week but the shape of it holds. A taster of what you might find includes Anneville Farm bringing vegetables and Panigot Farm the pork. Happy Hens the eggs from Grouville. Lucie's Boulange, offers sourdough made with local flour. Fishwise and the Ugly Oyster offer the seafood, the Smokey Shed the smoked and cured meat, Jersey Honey the honey. Ganache and Dough cover the sweeter end. There is coffee from the likes of Locke's, wood-fired pizza from the Good Stone, preserves from Katherine Jauncey and flowers from Bloom'n Goodness at Sion. What makes it worth the visit is that the people behind the stalls are mostly the people who grew the thing. That sounds obvious, but spend an hour at most markets and you will find it is not.

Awards and Recognition
The market's distinction is its setting: it is held in the yard of a working farm rather than on neutral ground, so the animals, the mill and the fields are all in view while you shop.
