Lightfoot's Farm is a three-acre smallholding with just a handful of pitches in the hay meadow, on the southern border of the New Forest National Park. The owners grow fruit and nut trees in the meadow, run a commercial vertical farm growing microgreens — shout if you'd like to try some. This is a farm stay where the farm is present. There are two ways to stay. Bell tents with comfortable kingsize beds and additional roll-out mattresses for extra guests, set between establishing nut trees, with shared use of the field kitchen. Hot tubs are with the pitches - for private exclusive use, or on other pitches can be booked separately, wood packs are available on site for purchase. Then there are shepherd's huts including Joe's Shepherd's Hut: a super cosy double with its own private hot tub for the duration of your stay, a wood fire, wash basin, tea and coffee, and a stunning picture window looking out over the establishing nut orchards in the hay meadow. Pete will provide a warm welcome - and although busy on the farm is usually if needed, guests have arrived by train from London and taken the bus to the beach; the coast is ten minutes' drive to the south, Lymington ten minutes, and Bournemouth and Southampton twenty. Nearby activities include sailing, canoeing, paddle boarding, fishing, horse riding, hiking and archery. There is a bus stop at the edge of the field and good train connections from Brockenhurst. One guest put it simply: "oh yeah, the microgreens were GORGEOUS."
