Morningside is a family-run smallholding located at the meeting point of moor, mountain and farmland in rural Perthshire. Peter and Lucy arrived on a rainy winter's day with a one-year-old, two dogs and four hens. What began as a renovation project has quietly become something more considered - a small farm shaped by conservation, seasonality and a genuine commitment to the land. Lucy brings a background in outdoor education, yoga and conservation land management. Since 2019 the farm has planted over 1,500 native trees, created an orchard, dug a wildlife pond, reduced grazing on the fields and stopped the use of widespread chemicals on the land. Sheds are left open and undisturbed for owls, swifts and swallows. The existing woodland and ancient trees are now being actively cared for. The produce reflects all of this. Hogget boxes: happy, healthy 18-month-old lamb, half or full box are available for local pickup or delivery, with individual cuts available to Bothy guests. Free-range hen, duck and goose eggs are available for guests or local pickup and delivery. Seasonal honey, herbs and vegetables are coming soon.
