Wheatacre Hall Barns, Wheatacre, Norfolk
Wheatacre, Beccles, Norfolk
Ask, and you can watch the cows being milked. Wheatacre Hall Barns are eight converted barns on the Burroughs family's working dairy and arable farm at Wheatacre, in the Waveney Valley where the southern Broads begin, and the farm's young stock are kept on site where children can get close to them. The barns are graded 5 star Gold. They run from two-person barns up to Mallard, which sleeps seven, and between them take 41 guests. Dogs are welcome. There is a shared hot tub, a games room, bikes to borrow free of charge and marked walks around the farm, with boards along the way explaining what is happening in the fields. The food is the part that earns it a place here. Raw milk from the farm's own herd is sold at The Farmhouse Pantry on site, which also carries bread, meat and veg. The Farmhouse Kitchen next door does breakfast and lunch every day. You can eat from the farm for a week without getting in the car. Most holiday cottages sit on land that used to be a farm. This one still is.

What do you produce?
Wheatacre Hall Farm is a working dairy and arable farm in the Waveney Valley, run by the Burroughs family. The farm's own milking herd supplies raw milk, sold at The Farmhouse Pantry on the farm under the family's registration as raw drinking milk producers with the Food Standards Agency, inspected in May 2026. The Pantry also sells food from the farm's own cows. Guests can ask to watch milking, and the farm's young stock are kept on site. Walks around the farm carry information boards explaining how the land is farmed, and the herd grazes the fields in summer.
