Wild Wellness

Coniston Water, East Side of the Lake, The Lake District ///connected.nimbly.lowest

The Atkinson family have farmed at Nibthwaite Grange, on the quiet east side of Coniston Water, for six generations and have lived in the area since records started 600 years ago. The farm is a mixed upland farm, keeping rare and native breeds. Maria Benjamin, John Atkinson's partner has built, from the farm, three of the most sustainable farm businesses in the Lake District - Lake District Tweed, The Soap Dairy and the wool brand she co-founded, The Wool Library. Wild Wellness sits on the farm's lake-side land. Natasha Shuttleworth runs open water swimming, sauna sessions and breathwork from the shore of Coniston. After the cold water, swimmers are handed hot water bottles in Lake District Tweed covers. The soap in the changing area is The Soap Dairy's, made a few hundred yards away from the farm's Jersey Cow milk. The reason this listing earned its place in the guide is that connection - the lake, the farm, and what comes off it, all in one afternoon. Wild Wellness offers open water swimming, sauna, breathwork and guided outdoor experiences designed to help people slow down, build confidence and reconnect through water, warmth and nature.
